THE ASK
Amtrak tasked us to design an app that would replace the pencil/paper/desktop combo currently being used by their employees. This app will function across iOS and Android phones and tablets, as well as integrate seamlessly with IBM’s Maximo platform.

MY ROLE
As the lead UX/UI designer, I looked to apply a human-centered design process from beginning to end. My role began with research and insights gathering; to creating wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, and prototypes; to user testing.

THE USERS
Our users consisted mainly of train engineers and repair technicians, many of whom work with gloves, in dark tunnels, and in physically uncomfortable positions. We also had to consider the wide age range of 25-60, as older users were not as technologically savvy.
